Vertical pole diffuser is an innovative traffic noise barrier system.

It provides at least 5 dB(A) of noise reduction, but only induces 80% less wind loading compared to the conventional noise barrier.

This makes it the most viable option for retrofitting existing viaducts, which may not be able to sustain high wind loading in structural designs.
