SilentMAGic is a new approach to minimize noise from heavy machinery in construction sites.

The effective frequency range is 400 Hz to 1500 Hz, with 7-9 dB(A) noise reduction on sheet piling works.

Total of 10 sets of dampers were magnetically attached on two opposing sides of the metallic surface of the breaker head, 5 sets for each side, secured by hard plastic bands surrounding the SilentMAGic. ~2dB(A) of noise reduction was measured.

Details:Vibratory hammer is used for sheet piling at a construction site of Tung Chung New Town Extension. With the implementation of 6 sets Piling SilentMAGic, sheet pile vibration reduction of 9-14dB from 630Hz to 1250Hz were measured at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd piles next to the driven pile. The noise reduction of ~7dB(A) averaged noise level and ~9dB(A) maximum noise level were measured at 7m and 22m from the sheet pile.


